Services
From climate change action and refugee support to cross-cultural and global education, NESA is working with governments, NGOs, agencies and institutions around the world to solve some of the most pressing challenges of our time. Our services fall into six main areas of focus:
1. International Development
NESA works with institutions and agencies around the world to end extreme poverty and empower resilient communities to realize their potential. Often our work involves collaboratively researching grassroots development issues and devising programs to train change agents and stakeholders. These include educators and development workers engaged in poverty alleviation, good governance, organizational reform, gender equity initiatives, human rights, environmental awareness and climate change action, and community mobilization.

2. Climate Change Action
Incorporating current research and developing strategies on climate change adaptation and mitigation, we work with organizations committed to raising awareness of climate change effects, causes and solutions and mobilizing individuals and communities to take positive and effective action. Often, our work in Climate Change Action includes partnering with organizational leaders to set goals for a specific group, developing strategies and materials for meaningful community-based engagement, and then working closely with local leaders to implement these strategies in a way that inspires new patterns and engagement. Whether training youth in Jamaica as Climate Change Action Agents; researching indigenous African solutions to climate change challenges; or providing educators with interactive, participatory curriculum materials for use in their classrooms, we are able to translate data into action.

4. Strategic Planning
By fully engaging key organizational figures as well as all major stakeholders in a reflective, provocative procedure that both values the positives of the past and focuses on the future, NESA leads organizations through a participatory process that results in a clear definition of the organization's purpose and the development of realistic goals and objectives consistent with the organization’s mission that can be accomplished in a defined timeframe within the organization’s capacity for implementation. The NESA bottom-up approach develops a sense of full ownership of the plan that brings together everyone’s best and most reasoned efforts in building a consensus about where the organization is going, ensures the most effective use of an organization’s resources by identifying and focusing on key priorities, and provides a baseline from which progress can be measured.

5. Global & Multicultural Education
Global climate change. Global village. Global citizenship. From economics to the environment, our shrinking world and the challenges it presents has pushed global and cross-cultural training from the wings and onto centre stage. Not just a scattering of fringe courses anymore, global and cross-cultural training provides students, managers and employees with essential skills, attitudes and knowledge that are arguably as critical as those of any traditional core subject or business preparation. With their experience working in nearly 30 countries and history of providing effective global/cross-cultural workshops, courses and in-service training for more than 30 years, NESA associates work with schools, companies, and organizations to develop effective training materials and develop and deliver training for your students or staff that will make a world of difference.
